Like several other guilds/alliances on here - drugs isnt a problem as noone actually talks about them , we only have the odd mention of alcho which is usually along lines of "im grabbing a beer ".
To us drugs is something to do with real life and is personal so is left out of local chat - gw is fantasy so drugs have no place ( tho makes you wonder if norns are on steroids and asurans on lsd :P )

its just down to your personal tastes in life. some people dont like drinking. some people dont like smoking. some people dont like drugs. some people dont like religeon.

it doesnt matter what the subject is. weather its illegal or not, if you dont like it, you dont like it, end of story. there is no argument here.

as mentioned above, you have those christain alliances, which i would never ever join. because i know i wont like it. if your guild is talking about a subject that you dont like, and it happens a lot, then its obviously not a guild your going to enjoy yourself in. because you dont have as much common ground as the rest of the members.

this doesnt just mean drugs. it can mean any topic, any walk of life. i'm suprised you even made a topic about it, when it just needs a little common sense used really.

I agree completely! Most of the people I know/have known that take/have taken drugs don't feel the need to talk about it with randoms from the internet. The ones which are like "Yeah, I'm going to go home and pop an e after this" are either lying, or have big security and confidence issues and feel as though talking about it makes them cooler.

People have the right to converse about whatever they like, regardless of how retarded it may make them look.

Much of what I read in chat throughout the game I perceive as the results of attention whoring, playing grown-up, and/or undiagnosed mental retardation. In particular, discussing drugs usually fits into the first category, but my guild and alliance members tend to be more mature than that.

I am curious why a talk on drugs by an officer or leader makes you facepalm? By just being against drugs, you are essentially using your own ethics and values against the people which you said isn't necessary for this topic.

We're talking about recreational drug use: Cocaine, Ecstasy, and the harder stuff. Addicts and abusers will always be worth avoiding as best you can, but not everyone who uses recreational drugs is a seething moron with anti-social tendencies.

I don't think I've ever been on vent or reading guild chat when a guildie is tripping on something harder than alcohol or weed. That said, I've heard stories alluding to previous experiences with drugs, and I have to say I don't mind it that much. Heck, a lot of the time, some really great stories are told.

I have a few friends who have done/do drugs. I know they would never talk about it over the internet (they are big MMO players). So, it's probably just little kids trying to make themselves sound cool.
